I made this cake two weeks ago for my bestfriend’s grandmother, and did not have time to post it on the blog sooner.
This was my first time making a drip cake and I was really happy with the results. I used a basic vanilla cake for the cake layers, filled it with caramel buttercream and covered it with vanilla buttercream and caramel sauce.
Overall, I was pretty happy and already thinking of new ideas for my next cake!!
Enjoy some pictures (so pretty, I couldn’t choose 😩 ) Continue Reading
This girl’s travel took her to Morocco this time around and I really enjoyed myself. It was hot, but to be honest after the heatwave in Malta, this was actually not that bad. It was very hot, but still bearable and leaving London on a rainy week, made it that more welcome.
Marrakesh, I didn’t really know what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised. The airport is lovely, airport transfer was well organized; you don’t get bombarded by drivers trying to get you in their cars as soon as you get out. The Riad where I was staying was the cutest little place with very kind and helpful staff. The room had a nice double bed, moroccan style bathroom and as a bonus I got the rooftop and small pool almost all to myself. They also have a hamam, indoor cook and make booking arrangements for travel and tours, so all in all I was pretty set for my trip.
I’m planning to post more fashion and beauty related content, but I am still working on issues with time, someone to take pictures, collecting details etc., but oh well, it’s a work in progress 😉
Today’s OOTD is an outfit that I put together to offer a good transition from work to let’s say business drinks. I’m attending Chatam House’s (Royal Institute of International Affairs) summer reception and wanted something on point, but not over the top.
My June trip, well end of June, was to Malta. Never been, Didn’t really know what to expect, so it was that more exciting.
Getting from the airport to your hotel/apartment usually sets the tone for how your holiday will start. And I have to say that this time around the transport was extremely well organized. I booked my transport the day before from Holiday Taxis, and the shuttle transfer to my accommodation was there, everything was confirmed, and even though my flight was delayed, it went smoothly after that. For less than £7,- I got a door to door return. Perfect right?
This past weekend was exactly what I needed. Short breaks from London are sometimes my way of caring for myself. Being an Academic, working, writing, dealing with the madness of London; having to rush every morning and evening with little time to truly reflect on day to day things is hard.
My first short break for the blog was to Barcelona. I decided to go back to Barcelona after making a pit stop years ago. Finally felt like I wanted to explore it a bit more & see what it has to offer. My flight from London with Norwegian Air was delayed, which put me off track, but we can’t let that spoil the fun.
